John Davis
Lead Pastor
From the time I was 4 years old, I attended Calvary Chapel of Manassas and gave my life to The Lord at
an early age. I was a prodigal for 10 years and when I turned 25, I read Romans 6:1 “What shall we say
then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” And I returned to The Lord. I immersed myself
in His word and made my mind captive to it. I knew I had to obey wherever God would call me to go, so I
turned an old school bus into an RV. I married Hannah and Front Royal was our destination. My wife,
children and I now live in a house like normal people. I began teaching in 2017 and pastoring in 2022.

I was brought up in the church as a young child and baptized around 10 years old. However, as I grew older I lived my life without giving much thought to what I had been taught. I never quit believing in Jesus or God in general; I just lived a worldly life and really only prayed when I got in a tight spot. I got married in 1980 to Linda and as we started having children, we decided to include God in our life. From that time on, my walk with Jesus has been both challenging and fulfilling as I have grown in my relationship with Him. A real bright spot in my life has been to see all my children be saved. On May 21, 2014, at a Calvary Chapel conference, the Lord let me know He wanted me to be more involved in ministry and I am now seeking to be faithful to that calling.

At age 12, I knew I needed a Savior, I asked for forgiveness & I was baptized. As I grew older, I lived a life full of self-seeking and self-gratification. After many years of the Lord pursuing me, in 1993 my world was shaken up when I was diagnosed with Leukemia. The cancer not only humbled me, it forced me to make a choice. Was I going to live for myself? Or Was I going to live for Jesus? In 1995, my family and I attended Calvary Chapel of Alexandria, and then we found Calvary Chapel of Manassas. Calvary Chapel of Manassas was much closer to home and it was there, I sat under the teachings of God’s word. In 2008, I was sitting in the Shenandoah River and heard the call of the Lord on my life- to help spread the gospel..
